Our Thanksgiving Visit to the Zoo

It was a rainy day, but we did get to see the baby elephant Samudra. She's so cute. And Skylar loved every minute of it. I am just glad the Gray Wolves *ENDANGERED SPECIES* weren't out in their holding pens. I like the small animals. Ha!

A Night out at the Races

We took an evening off from our busy schedule and went to the Willamette Speedway. Skylar has been in love with Lightening McQueen ever since the movie 'Cars' came out. We saw many "Lightening McQueen" cars and he even got to sit in a real race car. It was a load of fun. The cars get to going around that track so fast it actually can make you dizzy. Here are some pictures from our night out at the races.

After Seeing Santa....

After seeing Santa we continued on through the train display. From what I was told, kids used to be able to ride the train above the Santa and Christmas display. Macy's did a remodel and they didn't hook the train back up, so now it's on display and the kids and parents can sit in it and do pictures. There were so many people around and kids running everywhere we weren't really able to get a good shot of the train, but we did get some shots of Skylar in the train and of the snowman. Maybe next year we will get a good shot of the train, if we are still in Oregon.

When we first arrived at the Santa display we were greeted with Stormtroopers that were guarding the door. Skylar absolutely loved the fact that one Stormtrooper was wearing reindeer ears like he was.

Waiting in line can be so boring to a four year old. And trying to find things to do to pass the time got boring as well.

Finally we get to see Santa and the waiting in line was worth it all. Skylar told Santa he wants a tractor for Christmas and some more trains to add to his ever growing Thomas the Train collection. With over 382 trains in his collection, I hope Santa brings me some more storage boxes for them. Ha!

Arrrrgh! All Dressed Up And A Pirate Treasure Hunt To Go To

Depoe Bay is for more than just whale watching. Every year around the end of September, the city of Depoe Bay has their annual Pirate Treasure Hunt. Our team, Boodie's Hunters (Jeff, Skylar, MacKenzie, and Me), came in 4th out of 16 teams. It was a load of fun.The rain didn't let up and we were all so very tired afterward, but it was definately worth it and we will be doing it again next year.

Whale Watching At Depoe Bay

The boat we went out into the ocean on. It was called 'Morning Star'.

He kept teasing us with his tale. It was an awesome site.
